Work will be visible on the site of the new Girgarre milk factory in March or April, according to ACM managing director Michael Auld.
He said construction of the factory, to be built next to the former Girgarre Cheese Factory, was well under way — despite no visible movement at the site.
‘‘The building is being made and engineered off-site as is equipment, like dryers,’’ Mr Auld said.
‘‘It’s much more efficient.’’
The company is hoping to make some on-site progress shortly.
‘‘The permit should be issued this week and then we can start digging up the dirt. Then you should see it evolve pretty quickly.’’
Mr Auld expected milk processing to begin in September or October this year.
